Jason attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida from 1991-1995, and decided to major in Piano Performance. After a couple years of competent teaching, he was given the golden chance to study with Daisy DeLuca Jaffe, a concert pianist from Brazil. Under her tutelage, he developed relaxation and virtuosic piano techniques which he employs to this day. He attributes the bulk of his learning to Jaffe.
Upon leaving college, Jason took a job in Los Angeles, California at Faith Baptist Church, teaching 60 piano students and playing for church services, weekly. In 1998, he produced and released his first album, Prelude, which consists of sacred songs and original vocal selections. After working at the church for two-and-a-half years, he left teaching behind and went to work for Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. in Van Nuys, California. While employed by Alfred, Jason received invaluable training in editing music and text and was given the opportunity to work with some amazing musical talent. After leaving Alfred, he worked in the corporate world for a couple of years and soon realized that that wasn’t the best option for him.
In May 2003, Jason and his partner, Roger Lemieux, moved to Palm Springs, California. At that time, his music catalog contained only 40 secular tunes. Without a job or even the prospect of one, he began to practice 5 to 8 hours a day learning songs from the 20's, 30's and 40's. In August 2003, he landed his first job at The Uptown Grill Of Palm Springs. At this point, he had about 200 songs in his repertoire. Soon after he started at The Uptown Grill, he began playing at Le Paon in Palm Desert. He worked there for 4 months, and decided to concentrate his efforts on The Uptown Grill and private parties. In November 2003, Jason was given the wonderful opportunity to open for Joan Rivers at the Annenberg Theatre in the Palm Springs Art Museum. Since then he has also played for numerous parties, performed two years at the Mrs. California/Mrs. Nevada pageants, performed two consecutive seasons in the Sizzling Summer Cabaret Series at the Joslyn Senior Center in Palm Desert and played for many different fundraisers and charitable events. In December 2004, Jason's second self-produced album, If I Were . . ., was released. The release party was held at The Uptown Grill and was attended by over a hundred guests.
Jason made a commitment to his customers early on that if he did not know a requested piece he would learn it by the next time they were at his piano. In the beginning, this helped his catalog to increase, rapidly. Today, his catalog contains over 600 tunes and is still growing. Jason recently left his post at the Uptown Grill to take an exciting new position at Vicky's of Santa Fe in Indian Wells, California. He is excited by the move. In addition, Jason hopes to be playing on many different stages across the United States in 2007.
